Dual boot
That might have messed up the Windows partition and made it now non-bootable. Try booting from a DOS diskette that contains fdisk.exe and see if you can see the Windows partition and/or make it active (ie bootable). If you can see that partition, and don't mind reinstalling FBSD or deleting the boot manager,

Vista MBR vs. XP MBR
FreeBSD's boot manager will then manage to boot Win95/98 and - FreeBSD. If you install Windows 95/98 second, it will boorishly + <para>Install Windows 2000/XP first, If you install Windows 2000/XP second, it will boorishly overwrite your boot manager without even asking. If that happens, see the next section.

That should put boot manager on your active partition. Some have had to run it several times, so run at least 4 times before posting back.

Can't get a CD to Install
As expected, Windows created the windows.old directory with all my old files. I recovered them and then used disk cleanup to remove the old windows install. All is working well. The only issue that remains is that I now have a phantom Windows XP Recovery Console entry in the Windows Boot Manager.
